Guests please let us know if you want to go to a show as the tickets can be redeemed at the box office or we can give you the online discount code. This helps the theatre fill their seats and benefits our guests so everyone is a winner. Milly and Sue had a beautiful drive from Ambleside to Keswick basking in the early evening sunshine which enhanced the already beautiful scenery. For Milly it was her first time to Derwentwater so we just had to walk down to the shore and take in the views down the lake towards the jaws of Borrowdale.
They received a warm welcome at the reception party where there were really yummy nibbles and drinks. They just had to ditch the diet for the night and partake. Sue and Pete often go into the café for coffee and cakes after walking by the lake so Sue was not surprised at the yummy nibbles as the day time food produced by their chefs is always excellent and the views are to die for.
There was an optional behind the scenes theatre tour which lasted about 30 minutes and was a fascinating introduction to the theatres history, how the stage is set up and changed during performances, backstage they saw the huge door that allowed the enormous sets to be delivered (this was happening later that evening) ready for Jeeves &Wooster in Perfect Nonsense which opens on 24th May till 27th October along with Rails by Simon Longman. The actors dressing rooms, the wig room and the green room. The green room is the space in a theatre where performers wait before, after and often during a performance if they are not on stage for a bit.
There were short speeches from the team updating us on what’s on and what’s coming up then it was down to networking and socialising.
A lovely evening and we’re looking forward to seeing this seasons performances.
