Restaurant of the year winner Cumbria Life Food and Drinks Awards 2017

Located down in a cellar this small restaurant opened in 2014. It’s historical links have been traced back and it is proud to be the Former work place to one of the regions most Famous and native treasures: – William Wordsword.
local Brothers (From Langdale Valley) Ryan who is chef patron and Craig who is restaurant manager aim to offer their diners a unique and unprecedented experience of the food culture our county has to offer. Our native Hedrick sheep feature heavily in their repertoire along with fresh fish from the small local fishing ports of Barrow and Whitehaven. The family history doesn’t stop here with their parents opening the deli on the high street which is well worth a visit.
The restaurant is open for lunch 12.30-2pm and dinner 6.00-9.00pm with lunch reservation often available at short notice. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so the team can have well deserved time off.
